Specifies whether you want to increase compilation speed by up to 50% for designs that target ACEX® 1K, APEX™ 20K, APEX™ II, ARM®-based Excalibur™, Cyclone™, FLEX 10K®, Mercury™, Stratix™, or Stratix™ GX devices, using one of the following options:
| Standard Fit | Specifies that you do not want to increase compilation speed for the design. Selecting this option preserves the fMAX for the design. |
| Fast Fit | Specifies that you want to increase compilation speed for a design by up to 50% by using the fast fit feature to increase the Fitter's compilation speed. Selecting this option may reduce the fMAX for the design. |
| Limit to one fitting attempt | Stops the fitter after one fitting attempt. |
If you specify a FLEX® 6000, MAX® 3000, or MAX 7000 device for compilation, the Compilation speed/fmax tradeoff option is dimmed to indicate that it is not available.
