General Informations


Alatek offers a new IP CORE Generator tool to assist users in the design stage of their projects.  The simple front-end IP CORE Generator is fully integrated and dedicated to the simulator in Aldec's Active-HDL 4.2 design and verification environment. 

The IP CORE Generator generates source code in two hardware description languages: VHDL and Verilog. Each generated module is IC vendor independent and can be adjusted to the user's custom requirements. Additionally, there are models that optimally support the XILINX® XC4000 device family. All generated models are fully synthesizeable with Synopsys FPGA Express, Synplicity Synplify and Exemplar logic synthesis tools.

B) System requirements:
  •   Aldec Active-HDL 4.2 installed
  •   Internet browser:

    •         Internet Explorer 4.0 and higher (recommended) or Netscape Navigator 4.0 and higher, plus 
            ActiveX plug-in (you can download ActiveX plug-in for Netscape from: http://www.esker.com)
  •   6MB Hard Disk Space
  •   Windows 98,NT,2000
C) Installation procedures;


Run IP CORE Generator.exe from the CD-ROM or download an executable file from the Alatek website www.alatek.com . Please make sure Active-HDL is closed before installing.
Installation steps:
1.Please read the HDL  Wizard overview with simple information about the IP CORE Generator installation
2.Read and accept the License agreement
3.Enter your user information and installation key code
4.Choose your destination folder for installation
5.Begin installation and select "Finish" when complete 

During the installation process you can choose (select, unselect) to copy the full IP CORE Generator Help and Perl documentation. We are installing full Perl script software (required by free license agreement). 

The IP CORE Generator Installation program also adds a new function to Active-HDL 4.2 under the tools menu.  Open the IP CORE Generator by selecting : TOOLS -> IP CORE Generator. This will run the wizard in a standard Active-HDL window.
