ModelSim VITAL compliance

A simulator is VITAL compliant if it implements the SDF mapping and if it correctly simulates designs using the VITAL packages, as outlined in the VITAL Model Development Specification. ModelSim is compliant with the IEEE 1076.4 VITAL ASIC Modeling Specification. In addition, ModelSim accelerates the VITAL_Timing and VITAL_Primitives packages. The procedures in these packages are optimized and built into the simulator kernel. By default, vsim uses the optimized procedures. The optimized procedures are functionally equivalent to the IEEE 1076.4 VITAL ASIC Modeling Specification (VITAL v3.0).
